Baking Therapy

With raised eyebrows, many friends asked if I am becoming more 'homely', given my persistent interest in baking.

Nonsense.

I am fascinated by the science of baking. It intrigues me to see how minute variations of each recipe lead to different results.

Intrigue feeds interest, interest leads to more fascination, fascination results in more intrigue.

But there is more to it than science.

I bake when I am happy, stressed, nervous, worried, relaxed. I bake when I am distracted and needs to focus. And sometimes, I bake when I need to think through something. Baking soothes while helping me focus.

Interactions with people inspire me to bake. I pour all these inspirations into the batter and it somehow makes a flavourful batter. And if the people I bake for can taste and feel it, it makes the science of this craft so worth it.

Oh well, I guess baking is pretty therapeutic for me.

And so... this journey begins, as I embrace this baking therapy and celebrate the exuberance of baking.
